McDonald's - What are you really eating?

Have you ever wondered what you are really eating? When you are sitting in Mc Donald’s with your Big Mac?
Have you ever thought about how they can make those $3.00 meals? How they can make them so cheap?
If you were to make a burger, chips and buy a coke, it would never sum up to $3.00.
Those pasta animals for kids are supposedly healthy, but the colouring can’t be all that good.

Trans fats are formed when liquid vegetable oils go through a chemical process called Hydrogenation. This product is used in things like biscuits, chips and doughnuts because the oil is solid at room temperature, which results in a longer life.
McDonald’s products included trans fats until just recently. These fats are the worst for you.

Think back to when you were little, and every time you went to a mall. When you had lunch at the food court, what did you mostly choose? I can tell you, I always chose Happy Meals. A little, growing child eating all those trans fats, and not to mention the amount of sugar going through my system. Is it really what you would want your child eating?

Now that we are older and need lots of energy for sports training, school, and just everyday life, we wouldn’t really want to be eating that.

Have you ever done that thing where you drink tons of V or Red Bull? And you got really high and energetic? Well, that’s just the sugar and caffeine content giving you a boost of energy. The same with McDonald’s, high sugar content. The only problem with reaching for something sugary when you need energy, is that boost only lasts for a small amount of time. Then you will start feeling tired and worn out. Instead you should eat a piece of fruit high in the good, natural sugars, and high in things like Potassium will give you slow releasing energy. This means that your boost will last for a lot longer. For example; Bananas (High in potassium), apples (high in the good natural sugars).

Now that you know a little bit about what you are really eating when you go to McDonald’s, I hope you will think twice: Is the taste really worth the risk of the health problems later on?
And don’t think that you have no more options at the mall. Things like Sushi are low in sugars and fats, and Subway is a healthier version of a burger.
